Don’t get confused, we are not talking about the literal meaning of the proverb. Rather, we are referring to the Pickles here, sweet and spice everything nice- The Indian Pickle. They are sweet, they are spicy and makes each meal nice.
The common ingredients used are mangoes, lemon, garlic, jackfruit, gooseberry and karondas. The Indian pickles are not restricted to vegetables only, you can enjoy prawn, chicken and fish pickles too, though they are spicy yet they taste very Indian.

Another important ingredients that gives the pickles its flavour are the natural preservatives like mustard oil, groundnut oil and coconut oil. Aging is important in some of the pickles. Aging is important in some of the pickles like mango pickle, lemon, jackfruit and garlic tastes the best when they are aged whereas onion pickle, mix veg pickle and green chilli pickle doesn’t require aging.
The Indian pickles are not only to bring flavour to your thali but at the same time they aid digestion. They are rich source of anti-oxidants and vitamins.
